Papers relating to Elisar von Kupffer, 1912-1915.

Collection consists mainly of letters and postcards from von Kupffer (painter, poet, and founder of "Klarismus" philosophy) to Zetzsche explaining his progress in painting and poetry as well as reflecting on the creation of his newly created philosophy of religion and life. Correspondence also contains observations on the menacing appearance of the Italians in World War I. With three letters and six postcards to Zetzsche from Eduard von Meyer, religious historian and colleague of von Kupffer, on von Kupffer's worldview and personal matters. Collection also includes three photographs of von Kupffer in the uniform of an Italian Bersagliere, in that of his "Clarist Order", and in contemporary attire. With one photograph portrait of Eduard von Meyer.
